Korea's peak summer holiday season(late july to early august) is just around the corner.
Online travel agency Expedia recently surveyed men and women from 20s to 50s asking their summer vacation plans.
East coast, Kangwon province (27.4%) where Sokcho and Yangyang is located is the most preferred domestic travel destination for summer vacation.
Jeju ranked second with 26.8% of respondents followed by jeonranam province(11.1 percent) and Gyeongsang province(9.4 percent). 20s, 40s, and 50s preferred Kangwon province, while 30s preferred Jeju island the most.
According to data released by Expedia in February, Jeju was the most popular destination in the spring from March to May.
Southeast Asia (25.1%) and the South Pacific (20.5%) are the most popular holiday destinations overseas.
The respondent in 30s to 40s with children prefer the South Pacific most.
Third place is Northeast Asia such as Japan and China (14.1 percent) followed by Western Europe including Switzerland and Italy (11.1 percent) and Northern Europe (8.2 percent).
Most of respondents planned to stay for 3 days and 4 nights for their summer trip(31.3%).
More than half of the respondents said that they would use more than 500,000 won($450) ~ 1 million won($900) per person for summer vacation.
