Officially released on January 1st at midnight, MC THE MAX's 7th regular album, 'Unveiling', has managed to top on every online music service webs of Korea, and the the track, 'Wind That Blows', debuted #1 on every music charts directly after getting released.
MC THE MAX decided to become the first musicians to comeback in 2014, and they were ranked high in different keywords charts as well.
'Wind That Blows' debuted #1 on Melon, NAVER Music, Mnet, Olleh Music, Bugs Music, and DAUM Music charts directly, and all of the other tracks in the album were also ranked right below.
Next day, January 2, Rain released his 6th album “Rain Effect.” ,first album since long-awaited comeback after his mandatory military service for few years.
This was his first comeback in 4 years since Back to the Basics was released in 2010.
Most of his songs on new album didn't make it on korean online music chart top 10 list so far, title song "30sexy" debuted #29 on Melon, #9 on Mnet, #10 on Bugs Music and "La Song." debuted #20 on Melon, #19 on Mnet, #14 on Bugs Music as of Jan 3.
Industry source speculated that "it's hard to expect rain's new songs to go up the chart now that new albums for TVXQ (jan 6), Girls Day(jan 3)are on its way ,it was rather lukewarm reponse from korean k-pop fans considering that this was rain's first album in 4 yrs
Controvery over suspicion that Rain had violated service attendance regulations during his military service and his scandal with Kim Tae Hee,korea's top actress might have affected his popularities in korea somehow.
Meanwhile, MC THE MAX's management agency said, "This took 7yrs of long waiting, all of our members have been nervously waiting for their comeback date. Thank you for showing huge supports for MC THE MAX's comeback, and we hope that you will enjoy the new songs."
