Busan City As South Korea's Number 1 Filming Location
Marvel Studios has chosen Busan as its location to shoot a large chase scene for “Black Panther”.
From March 17th to 29th, Marvel will film chase scenes at main attractions of Busan include Gwangalli Beach, Gwangan Bridge, Jagalchi Market, Centum City, Namhyung Bridge, Haeundae Event Plaza and also in Yeong-do.
The shoot, which will involve some 150 cars and more than 700 people, is a car chase scene with the protagonist and the villain. Helicopters and airplanes are also expected to be in the chase.
250 Marvel Staff and Korean staff are staying in Busan from September last year for preparing to shoot.
In Busan, a total of 2,000 people including overseas cast, control personnel and 150 Korean film staffs were expected to stay in Busan
Shooting of "Black Panthers" in Busan is expected to boost Busan's position once again as Korea's No. 1 filming location city.
The number of films shot in Busan last year was 98, up five from 93 previous year.
Among the top 20 Korean box office titles released, nine were supported by the Busan Film Commission in 2016.
Films like "Pandora" and "Train to Busan" which directly used Busan as material for the film were immensely popular last year as well.
As Busan-made movies showing great popularity, film makers from other countries including Japan, China and Taiwan are also hoping to film part of their movies or dramas in Busan, which is becoming a popular place for location scenes.
