Korean Users Spend An Average Of 2 Hours Per Day On Mobile Apps, More Than Twice of American Users


Google’s direct of product management for mobile ads, Jonathan Alferness said at a press conference held at the Google Korea office in Seoul,Korea on 26th "According to Google research, South Korea is the country with second-highest smartphone penetration rate at 80 percent following Singapore and Korean users spend a average of 13.4 hours per week on mobile app which is more than watching TV (9 hours) and more than twice the US consumer's average mobile app usage time per week(6.3 hours)."

He added, "75% of Korean users do research on the Web to compare various apps before downloading it, but 95% of the installed apps were left unused after a month so various Google services such as Google Search, YouTube and Google's ad network can help consumers find the good apps and bring influx of new consumers through the google ads,"

Alferness said "Asia-Pacific countries such as Korea, China, Japan spend a lot of time using the app and spend the average of 4hours more playing mobile games per week compared to the United Kingdom and United States."
He also highly appreciated a good Korean app and mobile game developers such as Mobirix and 433.co.kr.
